The large east mediterranean island of Cyprus is beautiful and still largely unspoilt, with an exceptionally rich flora. Our early spring week is timed to give us the best displays of orchids and other choice plants in the garrigue, coastal habitats, and mountain woods and pastures. This is also an excellent time to see migrating and resident birds.

The flora and fauna of Crete is legendary. For this week’s tour, we go to an unspoilt part of the eastern end of the island, where spring arrives early, to explore the hills, gorges, coast and ancient sites, rich in orchids and other rare or endemic flowers. At this time of year, the hills are green and flowery, and few tourists have arrived.

The Dordogne region is one of the loveliest parts of France. Unspoilt flowery limestone grasslands are set amidst a matrix of old woodland, in a land cut into beautiful gorges.This is a relaxed week, staying in a lovely old farmhouse surrounded by flowers and birds, with the added bonus of superb cooking.

The Dolomite mountain range is one of the most extraordinary and dramatic places in Europe. Limestone peaks of quite exceptional beauty tower above a sea of forests and flowery pastures, yet it is readily accessible thanks to a network of roads and passes. In this 10-day, 2-centre tour, we get to see some of the finest parts of the Dolomites, and should see a wonderful range of flowers, butterflies and birds.

The Galapagos Islands are one of the most extraordinary places in the world for the naturalist, and the photographic opportunities are superb. To get there, you have to pass through Equador, so we’re taking the chance to visit some of the cloud forests and mountains of the Andes in one of the most biodiverse countries in the world.
